Job summary

Stellar Recruitment is seeking a NZ-qualified construction litigation lawyer to take ownership of high-value disputes across construction, development, infrastructure and broader commercial sectors in Auckland.

You will work closely with clients to shape litigation strategy, draft pleadings and manage matters with increasing autonomy, supported by senior lawyers in a collaborative, low-ego environment.

Qualifications

  • NZ admitted lawyer with approximately 3-8 years PQE.
  • Experience in litigation, construction law or dispute resolution.
  • Strong drafting, analytical & advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage matters with increasing autonomy.
  • Commercially minded approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication & relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on construction, engineering & project disputes.
  • Represent clients through mediation, adjudication & litigation processes.
  • Draft pleadings, submissions & dispute-related documentation.
  • Assess contractual risk & provide strategic dispute avoidance advice.
  • Manage complex commercial & project-based litigation matters.
  • Develop trusted relationships with clients & industry stakeholders.

About the Role

Large-scale projects rarely run exactly to plan, creating complex legal issues that require practical, commercially focused advice. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of high-value disputes across the construction, development, infrastructure & broader commercial sectors. You'll work closely with clients, contribute to litigation strategy & play a visible role in resolving challenging matters.
