Job summary

Te Iwi o Ngāti Kahu Trust is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function in East Tāmaki, Auckland. This sole-charge role partners with senior leaders, balancing risk, culture and organisational needs while guiding practical HR practice across the employee lifecycle.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ broad generalist HR experience at senior advisor or HR management level.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Solid employee relations capability, including complex performance, disciplinary and grievance matters.
• Understanding of workplace investigations and natural justice.
• Experience supporting organisational change.
• Experience across broader HR activities such as workforce planning, remuneration, performance management, policy and systems.
• Sound judgment and the ability to build trusted relationships with leaders and kaimahi.

Responsibilities

• Providing trusted, practical HR advice and building manager capability.
• Managing employee relations matters, including performance, disciplinary and grievance processes.
• Leading or coordinating workplace investigations and organisational change.
• Supporting workforce planning, remuneration and performance management.
• Leading recruitment, onboarding and induction.
• Developing and maintaining effective HR policies, systems and people practices.
• Supporting a positive, values-based culture and kaimahi wellbeing.
• Managing union relationships and collective agreement obligations, where applicable.
