Job summary

Lightforce Solar seeks a Solar Installer to join our on-site team in Tauranga. You will install residential solar systems, mount panels, run cabling, and set up inverters according to design specs and safety standards.

You will work with electricians and colleagues, maintain a clean, safe worksite, and provide courteous customer service. Reading plans and a valid driver's license are preferred.

Qualifications

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Solar Installer role based in Tauranga. The Solar Installer will be responsible for installing residential solar systems, including mounting panels, running cabling, and setting up inverters according to design specifications and safety standards. Daily tasks include using hand and power tools, working on roofs, assisting with site assessments, and ensuring installations meet quality and compliance requirements. The role involves collaborating with electricians and other team members, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and providing professional, courteous service to customers. The Solar Installer will also support troubleshooting, maintenance, and occasional system upgrades as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong practical knowledge of solar power and solar systems, with experience in the solar industry or a related field.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for installation work.
• Comfort working at heights and outdoors, with good physical fitness and attention to safety procedures.
• Ability to read and follow technical plans, diagrams, and installation guidelines.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within a team.
• Relevant trade or technical qualification (e.g., electrical, construction, or solar installation) is an advantage.
• Current driver's license and reliable transport to job sites.
• Prior experience in residential construction, roofing, or renewable energy projects is beneficial.
