Job summary

Lightforce Solar in Auckland is seeking a Solar Electrician to install, test, commission and maintain residential and commercial solar and battery systems across New Zealand. Qualifications

• NZ Electrical Registration or NZ Limited Certificate (EWRB) is required.
• Full NZ Driver Licence required.
• Strong understanding of electrical installation, testing and fault-finding.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and documentation.
• Comfortable working at heights and rooftops.
• Physically fit with a hands-on approach.
• Commitment to health and safety practices.
• Reliable, punctual and team-oriented.
• Experience with solar/battery systems, EV chargers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission solar power systems.
• Install and maintain PV systems, inverters, battery storage, switchgear, and related equipment.
• Read electrical drawings, technical specifications, and installation docs.
• Perform electrical testing, fault finding, repairs, and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with NZ electrical standards and safety regulations.
• Support installation teams to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
• Assist with stock management and warehouse duties.
• Participate in toolbox talks and site compliance activities.

As a Solar Electrician at Lightforce, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality residential and commercial solar installations across New Zealand. Working alongside experienced installers and project teams, you’ll be responsible for installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining solar and battery systems while ensuring all work meets the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Install, connect, test, and commission residential and commercial solar power systems.
• Install and maintain PV systems, inverters, battery storage, switchgear, and associated electrical equipment.
• Interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications, and installation documentation.
• Perform electrical testing, fault finding, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure all work complies with New Zealand electrical standards and safety regulations.
• Support installation teams to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Assist with stock management, warehouse duties, and equipment handling when required.
• Participate in health and safety initiatives, toolbox talks, and site compliance activities.
• Deliver professional customer service and maintain positive client relationships.

Skills & Experience

• NZ Electrical Registration or NZ Limited Certificate (EWRB).
• Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
• Strong understanding of electrical installation, testing, and fault-finding practices.
