At Engender, we’re transforming the future of dairy farming with world-first, laser-based sperm-sorting technology. Born out of cutting-edge research at the University of Auckland and now part of global genetics leader CRV, our work directly tackles one of the dairy industry’s biggest challenges—helping farmers improve animal welfare, strengthen farm economics, and drive sustainability. From our state-of-the-art R&D lab on Auckland’s waterfront, our diverse, world-class team is pushing the limits of microfluidics, photonics, biology, and software engineering.

Now, we’re looking for an experienced Software Manager to lead our growing development team.

The Role

As Software Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in guiding Engender’s software direction. You’ll lead, mentor, and support a talented development team while overseeing the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of scalable, high-quality software solutions. Working closely with product owners, scientists, and engineers, you’ll ensure our software underpins our breakthrough technology and aligns with Engender’s ambitious goals.
