Job summary

Teletrac Navman, a Vontier company, seeks a Software Firmware Architect in Auckland to own firmware architecture across embedded product lines. You will lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, validation and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable embedded solutions used globally.

The role requires a 10+ year track record in embedded firmware with C, strong design principles, and agile delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of embedded firmware development experience using C.
• Proven experience architecting embedded systems and products.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, patterns and best practices.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.

This is a senior technical leadership position where you'll influence product strategy, drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and help deliver secure, scalable and reliable embedded solutions used by customers around the world.

About The Role

Reporting to the CTO, you will take ownership of firmware architecture across our embedded product portfolio and work closely with engineering, validation, product management and key stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Define and evolve the long-term firmware architecture strategy
• Design robust, secure and maintainable embedded software solutions
• Lead architecture, design and code reviews across firmware teams
• Promote best practices, standards and architectural patterns
• Collaborate with product and validation teams to ensure quality outcomes

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
