Job summary

Airways in Christchurch is seeking a Software Engineer (ADAMS) to join the permanent, full-time Aeronautical Databases and Messaging Systems team. You will architect, design, develop, test, document, deploy, maintain and support real-time, safety-critical systems including web-based and mobile applications.

Ideal candidates hold an honours or masters in CS/SE, with 2+ years in a structured software environment, and strong Java and SQL database skills (Postgres/MySQL/SQL Server).

Qualifications

• Honours or master’s degree in CS or software engineering, or numerical degree with equivalent experience.
• At least two years in a software development team with a structured environment.
• Expertise in Java and SQL-based databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
• Ability to work in a dynamic business, collaborate with people, show resilience and agility, deliver outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, test, document, deploy and maintain real-time critical ADAMS systems.
• Develop web-based systems and a mobile application for the ADAMS suite.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Ensure robust software through documentation and code quality reviews.
