Overview

Dicker Data is looking for an experienced Software Business Manager to be responsible for the overall profitability and success of a portfolio of vendors. Responsibilities include developing the marketing plans and strategies with assigned software brands, managing, developing, and leading a high-performing team that fosters strong working relationships with our partners.

The role is pivotal in driving innovation, enabling partner success, and ensuring the delivery of cutting-edge software solutions across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships by meeting contractual and performance expectations. Monitor performance across the software portfolio to ensure targets are met.
  • Build strategic relationships with the vendors in your portfolio. Collaborate to co-develop joint Go-to-market strategies, enablement programs, and solution offerings.
  • Work with Product Managers to proactively manage pricing, licensing models, and margin strategies.
  • Conduct regular cadence meetings with vendors and internal stakeholders to review pipeline, performance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to promote software solutions through campaigns, webinars, and events.
  • Co-develop marketing plans with vendors and review performance regularly, ensuring Product Managers maintain up-to-date promotional content and event listings.
  • Develop account plans for focus reseller partners, including training, joint marketing initiatives, and solution selling.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication between sales, technical, operations, and vendor teams.
Core competencies sought
  • 5+ years of Product Management or BDM experience with a proven track record in developing new business and maintaining existing business, preferably in the IT industry
  • Ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise workload to meet company and customer expectations.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. This includes an ability to communicate and liaise with all levels of customer and supplier contacts, establishing respectful and positive relationships.
  • Strong numeracy and Intermediate MS Excel skills with an understanding of back-end administration procedures.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities, a strategic thinker with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • A high level of initiative and enthusiasm, but able to work with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Innovative, goal-driven, and determined, with a clear vision of company and financial objectives.
  • Deep understanding of software licensing, cloud platforms, and security solutions. Proven experience in software vendor/channel management or a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Skilled in negotiation, partner enablement, and business planning.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure with a strong attention to detail and process improvement mindset.
