Job summary

Nelson College for Girls invites an experienced and collaborative social sciences educator to lead the faculty. The role provides oversight and direction, supporting heads of subject to lead within their areas, while aligning with the college's vision and priorities.

You will foster a high-trust culture, maintain a strong focus on teaching, learner outcomes and culturally responsive pedagogy, and engage with the wider life of the school.

Qualifications

• Experience as an experienced and collaborative social sciences educator.
• Excellent communication skills and flexibility, creativity and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership as faculty lead for social sciences with oversight across the faculty.
• Support and develop heads of subject to lead effectively within their specialist areas.
• Foster a high-trust culture focused on teaching, learning and learner outcomes, aligning with school vision and priorities.
• Connect with young people and make learning relevant to life; engage in wider school life.
• Demonstrate high expectations for ākonga with culturally responsive pedagogy.
