This position sits within the multi‑Council collaboration Shared Services Team. The purpose of the team is to provide quality infrastructure solutions and services for the Waikato region. The purpose of the Smart Water Engagement Advisor role is to deliver our Smart Water programme to the community, educating them on why water is a precious resource and how we can go about saving water in our homes.

We’re looking for two casual Smart Water Engagement Assistants to join our Shared Services team. If you think it could be you, let’s talk.

  • Full clean driver’s licence.
  • Studying or passionate about sustainability.
  • Availability to work weekends.
What will I be part of?

You’ll attend community events in Hamilton, Waipā and Waitomo districts to engage and educate the community on why water is a precious resource and how we can go about saving water in our homes.

Key Outcomes For This Role Include
  • Attend community events in Hamilton, Waikato and Waipā Districts to deliver our Smart Water message to the community – mainly weekend work.
  • Generate conversations with members of the community about water conservation and water alert levels.
  • Able to communicate with a wide variety of people, comfortable and confident starting conversations.
  • Transport, set up, manning and shut down all equipment needed to run a market stall.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment for all workers and the public.
  • Participate in health and safety training related to position activities.
  • Actively participate and comply with all health and safety activities, policies, and practices including Civil Defence.

What’s the salary? An hourly rate of $27ph – $28ph + holiday pay. You will also gain valuable experience within the sustainability space.
