Job summary

Auckland City Longland Project Ltd is seeking three full-time Carpenters to join our Auckland team. Successful candidates will carry out a wide range of carpentry tasks in line with construction drawings and specifications, building, installing and repairing structures from timber and other materials.

Key duties include interpreting plans, cutting and assembling timber, installing frames, roof trusses and cladding, and maintaining a safe, clean worksite.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant carpentry experience or a Level 4 qualification.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Excellent physical condition and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.

About the Us:
Longland Project Limited is a busy construction company in Auckland specialising in residential building and house construction. We are seeking three full-time Carpenters to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of carpentry tasks in line with construction drawings and specifications. You will play a key role in building, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials.


Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret and follow construction drawings and specifications to understand project requirements.
• Identify and source appropriate materials, including timber and hardware.
• Cut, shape, and assemble materials using hand and power tools.
• Construct and install framework, roof trusses, sub‑floors, and floorboards.
• Ensure all structures are level, aligned, and properly secured.
• Install roof sheathing, fascia boards, external cladding, and window and door frames.
• Build and install wooden fixtures such as walls, partitions, and staircases.
• Create strong and accurate wood joints for assembling various structures.
• Maintaining a clean and safe worksite.
• Performing other carpentry‑related duties as required by the Employer.


Skills and Qualifications:
• 2+ years of relevant experience or a relevant level 4 qualification.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• Excellent physical condition and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.


The employees will work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and must be available to work on weekends. The hourly rate ranges from $25 to $35. Candidates must be New Zealand citizens or New Zealand resident visa holders. Only successful candidates will be contacted.

Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications

Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling timber and other materials to construct frameworks, furniture, and structures.

Installing fixtures, fittings, and structures such as windows, doors, stairs, and cabinets.

Inspecting materials and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and building codes.

Repairing or replacing damaged or worn structures, fixtures, or furniture.

Constructing and installing frameworks for walls, ceilings, and floors.

Assembling and installing partitions, shopfronts, and signage.

Operating hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines.

Ensuring all work adheres to safety standards and regulations.

Maintaining a clean and safe worksite in accordance with health and safety requirements
