Job summary

Fletcher Construction is seeking an experienced Storeperson for Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi) in Lower Hutt. You will own the stores, materials, plant tracking and yard operations, coordinating with engineers, supervisors and procurement to ensure timely delivery of resources for a major civil project.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, civil infrastructure or heavy industry environment.
• Experience managing stores, plant, tools, materials or site logistics.
• Current Class 1 licence with WTR endorsements.
• Experience operating forklifts and moving oversized materials.
• Strong planning, organisation and inventory management skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with site teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Proactive approach to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the project store, yard and laydown areas.
• Receive, inspect and distribute construction materials, tools and equipment across site.
• Coordinate deliveries and dispatches to support construction activities.
• Track and manage hire equipment, plant and small tools to maximise utilisation and minimise costs.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and complete regular stock takes.
• Load and unload vehicles and safely operate forklifts and site equipment.
• Ensure dangerous goods are stored, managed and transported in accordance with project requirements.
• Maintain a safe, organised and efficient work environment that supports project delivery.
• Work closely with engineers, supervisors, procurement and logistics teams to keep construction activities moving.
