Job summary

Department of Corrections NZ in Waikato is seeking a Site Learning and Development Lead to support site leadership in building team capability. You will assess training needs, oversee onboarding, and guide learning tools and solutions with a focus on accessibility to learning services on site.

You will promote online tools, collaborate with regional and national teams, and ensure alignment with Hōkai Rangi and departmental values while fostering strong relationships across the site.

Qualifications

• Understanding of how adults learn and how to design deliver learning
• Knowledge of the Department's L&D frameworks, pathways and systems
• Ability to lead and facilitate learning with multiple technologies
• Collaborative approach and ability to build relationships as a site champion for learning access
• Knowledge of Hōkai Rangi and its values; articulate and demonstrate them

Responsibilities

• Assess current capability levels and training needs
• Oversee onboarding of new staff and initial pathways
• Guide on learning tools and solutions and facilitate delivery
• Act as primary navigator for staff to access learning services on site
• Collaborate with regional and national teams to deliver learning opportunities
• Promote and support online learning tools on site
• Maintain knowledge of the Department's strategic direction and values
