About The Project

The Ōtaki to North of Levin (Ō2NL) highway will dramatically improve safety, resilience, and efficiency, while increasing transport choices for a growing population. The project is being delivered in partnership with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Muaūpoko Tribal Authority, local hapū of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, and Horowhenua District Council. This is a transformative infrastructure project being delivered using a two-alliance model. Our shared project principles include treading lightly on the whenua, building strong partnerships, and delivering an enduring legacy. About The Role

We’re seeking an experienced and driven civil infrastructure professional to join the Ō2NL project as our South Alliance Utility/Accommodation Site Engineer. In this key role, you will be assisting with relocation of utility (power, gas, water, etc.), demolitions and site coordination, among others. Your daily operations will include a variety of engineering challenges, and you will be tasked to procure solutions while aligning with programme, budget and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with property inspections, relocations, and demolitions to support accommodation and property works
  • Coordinate the setup and mobilisation of staff accommodation, ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Resolve site issues with utility providers and teams
  • Help with planning, scheduling, and daily reporting
  • Support subcontractor coordination and supervision
  • Conduct inspections and support quality assurance processes, reporting risks or non-conformances and assisting with environmental and sustainability reporting
  • Lead daily pre-starts and toolbox talks, promoting best Health, Safety, and Environmental practices and a safe working environment
About You
  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Property, or related field.
  • Experience in infrastructure or utilities or civil construction preferred.
  • Understanding of NZ property and utility regulations beneficial.
  • Knowledge and experience in NZ Health and Safety standards.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate with external agencies.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
