Job summary

Burger King NZ is looking for Shift Managers in the Auckland region to join our team on a permanent basis. You must be able to work night and weekend shifts; salary range $59-62K gross per annum; guaranteed 40 hours per week.

As a Shift Manager you will lead a small fast‑food team, coach staff, maintain food safety and quality standards, handle issues, and support profitability by managing costs and maximizing customer opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of team management experience in fast food, hospitality or retail.
• Exceptional communication skills with a positive culture.
• Experience onboarding new employees and staff motivation (advantage).
• Unpacking stock deliveries and inventory handling (heavy lifting).

Responsibilities

• Hands-on role supervising a small fast food team and coaching staff to perform well.
• Ensure operational standards, including food safety, quality, and customer measures.
• Problem-solve issues and escalate to experts when needed (e.g., kitchen equipment).
• Ensure Health & Safety of all employees.
• Assist in promoting profitability by managing costs and maximizing customer opportunities.
