Job summary

A well-known early childhood organization in New Zealand is seeking a motivated session facilitator to guide activities and support learning through play. Qualifications

  • Must hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to achieve this.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

  • Model Playcentre philosophy and good practice.

Job description

Playcentre Aotearoa, is a well known and loved Early Childhood organisation with over 80 years of supporting parents to take the lead in their children’s learning through play. Playcentre operates over 400 Playcentres throughout the country.

Katikati Playcentre is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic session facilitator to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre Community. You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child-led play and positive guidance, support planning and assessment for learning and positively support the Playcentre education programme. You will be a leader who encourages others to thrive; you will model Playcentre philosophy and good practice while supporting whānau to gain confidence to have a go themselves.

7 October 2025 – Negotiable for the successful candidate

Days & hours:

2 days a week Tuesday and Thursday 8:45am–12:30 pm (during term time only).

The ideal candidate must have the following:

  • Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher or an Early Childhood qualification of Level 4 or higher.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to achieve this.
