Job description

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Independent Qualified Person (IQP) to join our team and carry out Building Warrant of Fitness (BWoF) inspections for a range of commercial properties.

Role Overview:

As an Independent Qualified Person (IQP), you will be responsible for conducting BWoF inspections in line with New Zealand's building compliance regulations.

Your expertise will ensure that buildings meet safety and compliance standards, and you'll play a vital role in supporting building owners and managers with ongoing maintenance and legal obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular BWoF inspections of commercial properties.
  • Ensure buildings comply with New Zealand’s building and safety codes.
  • Complete necessary documentation and submit inspection reports.
  • Advise clients on any maintenance, upgrades, or repairs needed to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with building owners, property managers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance is maintained.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest changes in building regulations and standards.

Key Requirements:

  • Registered Independent Qualified Person (IQP) with current certification.
  • Experience conducting BWoF inspections in accordance with New Zealand building regulations.
  • Knowledge of building codes, compliance standards, and safety requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in building compliance, property management, or a related field.
  • Understanding of Building Act and other relevant legislation.
