About the Opportunity:

Our Masterton branch is seeking an exceptional individual to join our service department as a Service Foreman. In this role, you will monitor productivity in the workshop by scheduling jobs for technicians, ensuring they have everything needed to work effectively, quoting workshop repairs, and optimizing workshop space and resources to meet customer needs. You will collaborate with the Service Manager to provide cohesive field and workshop operations. Additionally, you will mentor apprentices to support their skill development.

You will be responsible for:

• Assisting with assigning jobs and work areas to Service Department employees based on their skills and knowledge.
• Participating in the appraisal of repair orders and repairs.
• Diagnosing machine problems alongside technicians and apprentices.
• Inspecting and repairing all special tools and recommending new tooling as needed.
• Reporting customer complaints to the Service Manager or Service Location Manager.
• Coordinating and scheduling technician training sessions.
• Helping to conduct quarterly safety meetings.
• Filling in for the Service Manager or Service Location Manager when necessary.
• Participating in re-conditioning used equipment and setting up new equipment.
• Providing performance feedback to technicians and staff.

To be considered for this position, you will need:

• At least 3 years of experience as a Service Technician.
• Leadership skills to guide others.
• Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products.
• Effective communication skills for speaking and writing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet applications.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• A forklift license is preferred.
