Job summary

DXC Technology Auckland Viaduct Harbour is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to provide Level 3 support across Windows Server, VMware and hybrid cloud environments. You will contribute to disaster recovery, cloud migration and infrastructure transformation.

The role requires strong hands‑on expertise in Windows Server, VMware and Azure, plus ITIL processes and excellent communication. Join a team delivering enterprise‑grade IT services for a major government client.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• 6+ years of relevant infrastructure experience, with at least 2 years in a similar role.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Windows Server and VMware technologies.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills in enterprise environments.
• Experience working within ITIL, change and incident management processes.
• Strong communication, teamwork and stakeholder‑management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 support for enterprise Windows Server and VMware environments.
• Administer and troubleshoot VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter, ensuring availability and performance.
• Perform VMware patching, upgrades, remediation and lifecycle management.
• Support Windows Server builds, configuration, patching and troubleshooting.
• Provide hands‑on support for VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and participate in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity activities.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure across on‑premises VMware and Wintel, as well as Microsoft Azure environments.
• Support hybrid cloud infrastructure and Azure workload migrations where required.
• Contribute to infrastructure optimisation, best practices and continuous improvement.
• Maintain technical documentation, procedures and operational standards.
• Apply exposure to Azure CLI, ARM, Bicep or Terraform where applicable.
• Collaborate effectively with technical teams, customers and stakeholders.
