Job summary

Canonical is seeking a Senior Web Engineer to join the Workplace Engineering team. You will design and deliver web-based systems and SAAS, and connect to multiple data sources to provide insightful visualisations for decision making.

You'll apply your Python/Node.js backend skills, web tech, and analytics experience to improve processes, mentor others, and help shape the future of Canonical's data-driven workplace initiatives across distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend web services with Python or Node.js.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Experience with data analytics and statistical methods.
• Experience with NLP, sentiment analysis, and machine learning.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver web-based systems and SAAS.
• Provide insights into Canonical workplace experience through analytics.
• Collaborate with a distributed team to improve workflows.
• Write high-quality code and perform thorough code reviews.
• Develop data visualisations by connecting to data sources.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers and share knowledge.
• Define specifications, epics and risk assessment.
