Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Auckland seeks an Estimator/Senior Estimator to deliver accurate cost estimates for major water infrastructure projects across New Zealand. Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of industry experience in water utilities or related sectors.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering, or similar.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; Power BI and CSS Candy/Quantum experience advantageous.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop first-principles cost estimates for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Quantify from design information and collaborate with engineers to ensure precision.
• Build and maintain estimating models for complex water sector projects, including risks.
• Validate quantities and pricing from suppliers and contractors.
• Source and review quotations, negotiating competitive pricing.
• Assess and price risk during early project stages.
• Structure estimates, bills of quantities, and bills of materials.
• Prepare clear, detailed reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Deliver integrated estimating services with strategic and technical guidance.
