Senior Transport Planner Fixed term to June 2026

Transitioning Auckland's transport network on such a mammoth scale is no mean feat and we need a talented team to ensure we are up to this task.

We are seeking a Senior Transport Planner and Transport Planner to manage the development of Strategic, Programme and Single Stage Business cases for the next phase of Auckland's Level Crossings removal programme. This is one of the most significant programmes of work in our planning pipeline to ensure that Auckland's rail network is fit for the future - and this is a great opportunity to help shape the future of Auckland!

These roles are fixed term until June 2026, with possibility of further extension.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in transport planning, urban planning, project management or related discipline.
  • Five years' experience in feasibility studies and business case process and development, ideally related to transport and funding.
  • A good understanding of transport and urban planning; and local and central government policies
  • Some experience of reviewing and overseeing work produced by professional advisors and junior transport planners.
  • Experience in co-ordinating or managing delivery of complex transport projects; or cross-agency projects.
