Job summary

Goodman seeks a sustainability professional to lead environmental initiatives across NZ’s largest industrial property portfolio from the Wynyard Quarter office. The role offers hands-on delivery of environmental strategy with a full handover and a collaborative team.

You will manage greenhouse gas emissions assurance, contribute to climate reporting, analyse energy and asset performance, and coordinate portfolio-wide sustainability initiatives such as Green Star and solar projects.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, property, commerce or a related discipline.
  • Experience managing sustainability programmes and external advisers, at least two to four years relevant experience required.
  • Collaborative approach with curiosity to delve deeper into this evolving field of work.
  • Ability to translate technical information into clear insights that support reporting, decision-making and action.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation of sustainability reporting inputs, including climate disclosures and governance papers.
  • Analyse portfolio energy, emissions and asset performance data for trends and opportunities.
  • Coordinate tracking of portfolio-wide sustainability initiatives (Green Star, energy efficiency, solar projects).
  • Engage with stakeholders and ratings suppliers on sustainability benchmarking scores.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a sustainability professional with proven experience of at least two to four years to step into this varied, high-impact role alongside the Head of Environmental Sustainability. You'll gain broad exposure across carbon accounting, climate reporting, and hands-on sustainability initiatives, working with a determined, high-performing team committed to doing things better. The Role

This role plays an important part of the team delivering Goodman's environmental sustainability strategy. If you show the desire to learn and develop your knowledge you will have the opportunity to be involved and even run projects as they evolve. A full handover will be provided.

Be involved in the following areas of work:

  • Manage greenhouse gas emissions assurance, carbon accounting processes, and relationships with external assurance and data partners
  • Lead the preparation of sustainability reporting inputs, including climate-related disclosures, governance papers, analysis and supporting evidence
  • Analyse portfolio energy, emissions and asset performance data to identify trends, gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Coordinate tracking and analysis of key portfolio-wide sustainability initiatives, including Green Star Performance, energy efficiency, submetering, lighting upgrades and solar projects
  • Engage with internal stakeholders and external ratings suppliers on Goodman NZ's sustainability benchmarking scores
