Job summary

Hawksbury Community Living Trust in Wigram, Christchurch, is seeking a Senior Support Staff member for a full-time residential care role. You will work to support people with learning disabilities in a home-like environment, with strong leadership support and a focus on person-centred care.

Your day includes practical assistance, daily routines, personal care, community engagement, and mentoring other staff. A NZ health qualification and a valid NZ driver’s licence are required.

Qualifications

• NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 3 or above) or equivalent.
• Full New Zealand driver's licence (essential).
• Right to work in New Zealand.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Eagerness to continue learning and developing as a Support Staff member.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines (shopping, meal preparation, household tasks).
• Provide personal care respectfully and safely.
• Support community activities and outings.
• Encourage independence, choice, and wellbeing.
• Provide support, encouragement and guidance to other staff.
