Senior Structural Engineer - Christchurch

Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

Building on our track record of designing some of New Zealand’s most significant Industrial and Water Utility structures, we have a strong forward pipeline of projects across New Zealand. We are looking for a qualified and experienced Senior Structural Engineer with expertise in liquid retaining structures to lead our work in the Industrial and Water markets.

You will join a well-established and diverse team of structural engineers, working on a wide range of projects across the local region, New Zealand, the Pacific, and Australasia.

Every day will provide you with new challenges and look a little different. Overall, this role will see you:

  • Demonstrate your ability and passion for providing technical advice and project leadership while embracing a culture that values teamwork.
  • Leading project delivery together with client relationship skills and proposal preparation.
  • Building strong customer relationships by understanding our client's core business and ensuring that services meet their expectations.
  • Helping to grow the talent and careers of our structural engineers as well as championing innovation.

Ko wai koe | About you

You are a chartered structural engineer with a strong track record of delivering industrial or water projects, including experience with liquid retaining structures. These may include:

  • Water Reservoirs and Tanks.
  • Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants.
  • Specific experience in the following would also be beneficial:
    • Design of concrete structures for the storage of liquids, in particular following NZS3106.
    • Assessment and design of steel tanks following NZSEE Seismic Design of Storage tanks.
    • Experience with the control of cracking in concrete structures advantageous (CIRIA C766).
  • You love to learn and share knowledge and can bring a fresh perspective to ensure the development of the people around you and constantly seek better practices for the overall quality of our work and our client experience.
  • Being a values-driven individual, you will enjoy sharing the successes of your colleagues and delivering excellence.
  • Your strengths in technical leadership, project delivery, client relationships, and guiding and mentoring staff will ensure your success.
