Job summary

Halter is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the end-to-end stack behind production test systems, from data capture at the test station to databases, dashboards and APIs.

You will build robust AWS tooling, set standards for quality, security and observability, and help shape the technical roadmap as we scale. Strong backend, data engineering and experience shipping production systems are essential, with Go or Python and SQL skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and shipping complex production systems.
• Strong, hands-on AWS engineering across scaleable tooling.
• Backend and data engineering with REST APIs, events and databases.
• Experience with platform/infrastructure tooling at scale (AWS, Terraform, CI/CD).
• Ability to set direction, roadmaps and mentor engineers.

What You'll Do

• Own the end-to-end stack behind the factory testing, traceability, and process control - from data capture at the test station, to databases, to dashboards/APIs
• Build robust, scalable AWS tooling that gets factory data to the teams that need it.
• Set standards for quality, security, observability, and release.
• Help shape the technical roadmap and make the architecture calls as volume grows.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience building and shipping complex production systems.
• Strong, hands-on AWS: can independently design and ship scalable, reliable tooling.
• Solid backend and data engineering: REST APIs, event-driven and distributed services in Go or Python, databases, and data pipelines. Strong SQL.
• Experience building platform and infrastructure tooling at scale: AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, observability.
• A technical leader: sets technical direction and roadmaps, and grows engineers through hands-on work and influence.
• Bonus: manufacturing test or operations experience - production line, hardware test, SPC, contract manufacturing.
