Job description

Our client is looking for a Senior Planner to join their awesome team in the Waikato.

The Senior Planner role processes resource consent applications and formulates and documents sound decisions in relation to these applications in accordance with the requirements of the Resource Management Act. The position is also responsible for mentoring, coaching and providing advice to Planners in order to build their capability.

This is an opportunity to work on some exciting and varied projects.

To be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate:

  1. A minimum of 4 years of resource Management planning experience in a range of related planning organisations
  2. Hold full NZPI membership or hold a Resource Management planning or related degree that gives access to full membership
  3. Strong oral and written communication skills, sound time management and organisational skills and be passionate about resource management planning
  4. Comfortable dealing with clients to include high profile national entities, local organisations, councils and individuals
  5. Prepare reports on particular planning issues or projects as directed
  6. Demonstrated ability to present topics to the public, professionals, at hearings (including preferably the Environment Court) and at meetings.
