Job summary
Napier City Council is seeking an experienced Senior Resource Consent Planner to lead complex land use and subdivision consent projects in Napier. You will assess applications, provide expert planning advice, and represent the Council at hearings, ensuring compliance with the Resource Management Act and District Plan.
Based in Napier, this permanent, full-time role offers 40 hours per week with benefits including five weeks' annual leave after two years, employee benefits, and ongoing
Qualifications
- Five years’ experience in planning, resource management or development processes.
- Extensive experience assessing complex land use and subdivision consent.
- Strong knowledge of the Resource Management Act and planning legislation.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
Responsibilities
- Process complex land use and subdivision resource consent applications.
- Prepare planning assessments, reports and recommendations within timeframes.
- Represent Council at hearings and provide expert evidence when required.
- Contribute to strategic planning initiatives and District Plan reviews.
