Job summary

Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand seeks a senior radiology clinical advisor to lead the Lung Screening Mobile Pilot, shaping standards and governance for equitable screening delivery across New Zealand.

You will work within the National Public Health Service to translate radiology expertise into practical guidelines, SOPs and monitoring frameworks, while collaborating with multiple teams to ensure safe and effective implementation.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Medical Practitioner with a Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology scope of practice and a current APC.
• Experience delivering services within Health New Zealand and providing senior clinical leadership.
• Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, with experience working in partnership with iwi and Māori communities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• The ability to analyse complex information, apply sound clinical judgement, and develop practical, evidence-based solutions.
• A commitment to quality improvement, clinical governance, and equitable health outcomes for all communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical leadership and advice to support the implementation of the Lung Screening Mobile Pilot.
• Contribute radiology expertise to the development of clinical and quality standards, guidelines, SOPs, QA processes, and monitoring frameworks.
• Ensure clinical pathways, digital and data requirements, operational processes and participant management approaches are practical and clinically aligned with radiology models of care.
• Collaborate with clinicians, operational teams and stakeholders to support pilot implementation and governance.
