Job summary

Feisst Group, Hamilton, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team across Feisst Electrical, Select Alarms and Structured Technologies.

You will lead cost planning, procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts in a hands-on, senior role, mentoring junior team members while building lasting relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years commercial/QS experience in construction or an equivalent qualification
• Knowledge of NZS3910/NZS3916 contracts and the Construction Contracts Act
• Experience with cost plans, progress claims/valuations, variations and final accounts
• High accuracy and attention to detail; able to juggle multiple projects under pressure
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, mentoring capability
• Proficiency in Excel; Jobpac Connect experience a bonus

Responsibilities

• Price, negotiate and process variations, maintaining tender/estimate records
• Manage cost control, budgets and cash flow; report variances
• Prepare and negotiate monthly progress claims/valuations
• Build relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers; manage accounts
• Support project reviews and identify performance improvements
• Coach and mentor junior commercial/QS team members
• Attend site and client meetings as required
