Job summary

Westpac New Zealand Limited, located in Takutai Square, is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead automation and functional testing for the Lending Transformation team. You will design, develop, maintain and execute automation and functional test solutions using modern tools and agile practices, with a focus on API and integration testing across complex enterprise environments.

As a senior member you will mentor others, champion continuous improvement, and apply AI-enabled quality engineering

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or Software Testing.
• Experience defining, implementing, and improving quality practices, standards, and test strategies.
• Hands-on automation across Java stack and API validation.
• Strong SQL skills to validate data across multiple systems.
• Experience with CI/CD and version control (Git).
• Desirable: Lending or banking domain knowledge.

You will actively oversee and participate in the delivery of quality outcomes by designing, developing, maintaining, and executing automation and functional test solutions using modern tools, best-practice techniques, and agile quality engineering practices. This is an automation-led role requiring strong hands-on experience in automation, API and integration testing across complex enterprise environments. As a senior member of the team, you'll provide technical leadership, mentor and coach other engineers, and champion continuous improvement across testing and quality practices.
