What you'll do:

At Genesis, we're proud to be at the heart of New Zealand's energy future. Our generation sites are critical in powering homes, businesses, and communities across the country and behind the scenes, it takes the right materials, equipment, and services delivered at the right time to keep everything running smoothly. That's where you come in.

Reporting to our Warehouse, Inventory and Purchasing Team Lead, you will shape sourcing strategies, build stronger supplier relationships, managing purchase orders, and maintain accurate inventory data to support both day-to-day operations and large-scale outage projects. Beyond managing procurement of critical generation spares, you will mentor and guide the purchasing and inventory team, helping to shape a culture of continuous improvement and embedding best practice across the function.

Please note, this is a permanent full-time role based at our Huntly site, with regular travel required to our renewable generation sites.

What you'll need:

You're a skilled procurement professional who thrives on solving challenges and making processes better. With a strong background in procurement and inventory management and great analytical skills, you're confident managing supplier relationships, sourcing offshore/local suppliers, and using data to make smart decisions. You're digitally savvy, data-driven, and motivated by the chance to make an impact in a business that keeps the lights on for the whole country.

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Proven experience in purchasing/sourcing, ideally in complex industrial environments
  • Strong supply chain knowledge with excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build strong business relationships
  • Proficient in Excel and inventory/purchasing systems.
