Job summary

Auckland District Health Board is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist with a focus on older adults for a permanent, full-time role based at Greenlane Clinical Centre in Auckland. The position offers balanced hours with rostered shifts and an emphasis on collaborative, recovery-oriented care.

Qualifications

• Vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand with a current Practising Certificate or be eligible for registration.
• Full and clean drivers license as this is a community-based role.
• A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori.
• This role includes on-call roster participation for Liaison Psychiatry and Awhi Mātua.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment and treatment for adults aged 65+ with mental illness and cognitive change.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to optimise function and wellness.
• Collaborate with families/whānau and service users to support independent living.
• Participate in on-call Liaison Psychiatry duties as required.
