Job description

The opportunity:

We are embarking on our most significant Information Technology transformation. The Modern Information Programme will achieve strategic objectives by establishing a cohesive source of truth for information and collaboration needs across our Australasian businesses.

The programme encompasses 5 pivotal projects, and as the Senior Project Manager you will deliver the Core infrastructure build and New Zealand Digital workspaces. You will lead collaborative cross-functional teams to ensure both the technical and change aspects are successfully managed. Your key responsibilities include initiating, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closure of both projects, ensuring they are delivered within scope, on schedule, within budget, and to the expected quality standards.

You have the flexibility to travel trans-Tasman.

This is a fixed-term role until October 2027.

In addition to the above, you will:

  • Develop and implement project delivery methodologies, and manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, including scope, schedule, quality, and budgets.
  • Manage risk/issues and escalation, track milestones and tasks, and ensure benefits realisation.
  • Identify and monitor dependencies, opportunities, and constraints, and liaise with other internal and external projects.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets.
  • Manage vendor relationships, delivery, spend, and resources.
  • Regularly report on the performance of the projects.
  • Support the Change Lead in designing and delivering change strategies and manage stakeholder relationships.

This is an exceptional opportunity for you to drive meaningful change in a dynamic that values innovation, collaboration and excellence!

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A PMP certification or relevant project management qualification.
  • 8+ years in the industry, preferably in large/complex organisations.
  • Proven experience delivering technical IT projects within a large enterprise, change projects at a senior level, and large migration projects.
  • Strong leadership and ability to influence across multiple organisational levels.
  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile projects.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to manage resistance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder, team, and vendor engagement.
  • Preferred candidates will have experience in projects where SharePoint, AvePoint or similar tools have been implemented.

To ensure our employees are well looked after, we offer a suite of benefits such as:

  • Medical insurance.
  • Life insurance.
  • KiwiSaver employer contributions.
  • Fuel discount card
  • Ongoing training and development, career growth and progression opportunities
  • Great discounts at a wide range of retailers

Creating, Connecting and caring for the community
Our people regularly donate their time to local causes and initiatives, while at a regional and national level we provide financial support, skills and resources to a wide range of organisations that are strengthening our communities. Our focus aims to also reduce our impact on the environment, and regenerate healthy new ecosystems. We look to partner with others to lift the standards of our industry and show customers lower-impact, sustainable ways of delivering infrastructure.
