Overview

Ready to shape the future of digital products at NZME? NZME is seeking a proactive and talented Senior Product Manager to join our high-performing Digital Product Experience team. This is your opportunity to shape strategy and deliver innovative digital experiences in one of New Zealand’s most dynamic media and digital companies. This full-time, hybrid role will see you working closely with senior leadership, software engineers, quality engineers, UX designers, editorial, marketing, commercial, data, and customer support teams to manage the entire product lifecycle—from ideation to launch.

About You
  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience in a digital product management role
  • High degree of understanding of Agile principles and practical experience delivering products in an agile environment
  • Experience in media and/or with a subscriptions business is desirable
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent product and project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen
  • Customer-first mindset and empathy for internal and external customers
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment
  • High degree of organisation, individual initiative, and personal accountability
  • High degree of self-awareness and ability to thrive in a fast-paced delivery environment
  • Practical experience with prioritisation frameworks and techniques
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the product lifecycle management process, from ideation to scoping, build, delivery, and launch
  • Partner with stakeholders and customers across NZME to inform product vision, strategy, features, and prioritisation
  • Develop and own the product roadmap, collaborating on business and project planning
  • Conduct customer testing and research in collaboration with CRO and User Experience teams
  • Balance customer and commercial interests, ensuring alignment with business strategy
  • Lead quarterly planning prep and prioritisation
  • Monitor market and competitor trends, refine priorities, outline milestones and deliverables, and identify opportunities and risks
  • Define, monitor, and analyse key performance metrics to drive product development and planning
  • Provide clear and transparent feedback to stakeholders on roadmap progress
  • Support and mentor junior product team members, contributing to team learning and development
