Job description

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by

Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Well… you've come to the right place!

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our team in Newmarket.

At Lightspeed, our goal is to create the best possible experience for retailers. As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll take ownership of a meaningful product area, develop the strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for it, and help shape the future of our products.

You’ll spend time with retailers to understand their needs, identify opportunities for growth and use those insights alongside data and commercial context to decide where your team can have the greatest impact. Working closely with engineers and designers, you’ll help ensure everyone understands the why and what behind the problems we’re solving.

The ideal candidate is collaborative, curious and comfortable navigating complexity. With strong communication and stakeholder management skills, you’ll be able to bring people together around a clear direction, make sound decisions through ambiguity and communicate trade-offs clearly.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Discover and Define: Develop the strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for your area, spending time with customers to identify high-impact problems and opportunities that can be solved at scale

  • Risk and Delivery: Bring a strong understanding of customer needs, commercial considerations and business constraints to your team, giving them the context and autonomy to deliver effective solutions and measurable impact

  • Stakeholder management: Use customer insight, data and clear reasoning to influence teammates, colleagues, stakeholders and executives, building alignment around priorities, trade-offs and desired outcomes

And a little bit of....

  • Contributing to a strong Product team by sharing your knowledge, supporting other Product Managers and looking beyond your immediate product area to help improve how the wider organisation operates

  • Building strong retailer advocacy, increasing retailer empathy and understanding throughout Lightspeed

What you need to bring:
  • Experience owning a complex technology product or product area with a high degree of autonomy, including developing product strategy and multi-quarter roadmaps

  • Proven experience collaborating effectively with engineers, designers and company leaders, and creating clarity around the problems the team is solving

  • Ability to balance customer, commercial and technical considerations, make sound decisions in complex or ambiguous situations and assess the trade-offs involved

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to present clear, well-structured and data-informed recommendations in both written and verbal form

We know that people are more than what’s on their CV. If you’re excited about the opportunity but unsure whether you meet every requirement, we’d still encourage you to apply.

Be a changemaker

You’ll enjoy:

  • Lots of autonomy, flexible work culture with the option of working remotely or from one of our beautiful offices

  • Genuine career growth opportunities within a company that's continuously expanding.

  • Make a meaningful impact by helping merchants grow their businesses through creating or improving products and addressing customer feedback.

  • Be part of a team large enough for growth yet agile enough for real impact.

  • Work on high-traffic products with a global user base.

  • Opportunity to work alongside other highly skilled engineers, learn and expand your skill set, forge wonderful relationships and make your mark within the diverse and inclusive Lightspeed culture, a true Canadian tech success story.

Plus benefits designed to keep you happy, healthy and fulfilled.

  • Lightspeed share scheme (we are all owners)

  • Unlimited paid time off policy

  • Work remotely from anywhere in the world for up to 60 days per year

  • Flexible working policy

  • Health and wellness benefit of $500 per year
