Job summary

Lightspeed, headquartered in Montréal and serving retailers worldwide, is seeking a Senior Product Manager for its Newmarket, Auckland team. You will own a meaningful product area, develop the strategy and multi-quarter roadmap, and help shape the future of Lightspeed’s products.

You’ll spend time with retailers to understand their needs, identify opportunities for growth, and use insights alongside data and commercial context to decide where your team can have the greatest impact.

Qualifications

• Experience owning a complex technology product or product area with a high degree of autonomy
• Proven experience collaborating effectively with engineers, designers and company leaders
• Ability to balance customer, commercial and technical considerations, make sound decisions in complex or ambiguous situations and assess trade-offs
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to present clear, well-structured and data-informed recommendations

Responsibilities

• Discover and Define: Develop the strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for your area, spending time with customers to identify high-impact problems and opportunities that can be solved at scale
• Risk and Delivery: Bring a strong understanding of customer needs, commercial considerations and business constraints to your team, giving them the context and autonomy to deliver effective solutions and measurable impact
• Stakeholder management: Use customer insight, data and clear reasoning to influence teammates, colleagues, stakeholders and executives, building alignment around priorities, trade-offs and desired outcomes
• And a little bit of....: Contributing to a strong Product team by sharing your knowledge, supporting other Product Managers and looking beyond your immediate product area to help improve how the wider organisation operates

You’ll spend time with retailers to understand their needs, identify opportunities for growth and use those insights alongside data and commercial context to decide where your team can have the greatest impact. Working closely with engineers and designers, you’ll help ensure everyone understands the why and what behind the problems we’re solving.

The ideal candidate is collaborative, curious and comfortable navigating complexity. With strong communication and stakeholder management skills, you’ll be able to bring people together around a clear direction, make sound decisions through ambiguity and communicate trade-offs clearly.

What you’ll be doing:

What you need to bring:

Experience owning a complex technology product or product area with a high degree of autonomy, including developing product strategy and multi-quarter roadmaps

Proven experience collaborating effectively with engineers, designers and company leaders, and creating clarity around the problems the team is solving

Ability to balance customer, commercial and technical considerations, make sound decisions in complex or ambiguous situations and assess the trade-offs involved

Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to present clear, well-structured and data-informed recommendations in both written and verbal form
