NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to join our Infrastructure Development & Delivery team. Based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch, you’ll lead procurement activity for major transport projects and shape sourcing strategies to deliver value for money and manage risk.

You’ll work with project leaders, delivery teams and suppliers to secure outcomes on New Zealand’s land transport capital programme, ensuring contracts are robust and commercial

We're looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist to join our growing Infrastructure Development & Delivery team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering New Zealand's transport infrastructure programme by leading procurement activity that drives value for money, manages risk, and supports successful project outcomes. You'll work alongside project leaders, delivery teams, and industry partners to help procure and deliver some of the country's most significant transport investments.

In This Role, You'll

• Lead end-to-end infrastructure procurement activity
• Develop sourcing strategies and procurement plans
• Partner with project and programme teams to deliver successful outcomes
• Contribute to stronger commercial discipline and delivery confidence across the infrastructure portfolio

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with project and programme leaders, procurement colleagues, legal teams, suppliers and other public sector organisations to support effective commercial delivery.

View the Position Description. Appointment salary is from $111,051 to $135,729 commensurate with skills and experience.

You’ll be an experienced procurement professional who combines sound commercial judgement with a practical, delivery-focused approach. You’ll be confident managing sourcing activity, advising stakeholders and navigating the requirements of procurement within a complex environment.
