Job summary

Ministry of Social Development seeks a Senior Policy Analyst to lead complex policy work across the Social Investment work programme. You will provide high-quality, evidence-based policy advice, collaborating with policy, data, commissioning and delivery teams to influence central government decisions.

You will manage policy projects, strengthen team capability, and apply best practice policy frameworks while supporting governance and Te Tiriti o Waitangi considerations.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience providing policy advice at a senior level in central government.
• Strong understanding of policy development, machinery of government and policy quality processes.
• Experience with government Budget processes, Vote management or legislative processes is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely, high-quality policy advice that is data-driven and aligned with strategic priorities.
• Lead complex policy analysis and develop clear recommendations for decision-making.
• Contribute to strategic thinking on social sector issues and the Social Investment Fund.
