Job summary

The Centre for Family Violence and Sexual Violence Prevention, hosted by the Ministry of Justice in Wellington, seeks an experienced Senior Policy Advisor to shape New Zealand’s response to family violence and sexual violence. You will lead complex policy work and prepare Cabinet papers, briefings, and ministerial advice.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in policy development within central government or equivalent public sector.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and evidence.
Experience preparing Ministerial, Cabinet, and executive-level advice.

Responsibilities

Lead complex policy projects and work programmes.
Develop Cabinet papers, briefings, aide-mémoires, and ministerial advice.
Provide strategic analysis and recommendations on cross-system issues.
Build partnerships across government and sectors.
Support Crown–Māori relationships and Te Tiriti perspectives in policy development.
