Job summary

Higgins is seeking an experienced Paving Manager to lead our asphalt surfacing programme across the Waikato. This hands-on leadership role owns project delivery, commercial performance, client relationships and coordination of crews, plant and resources.

You will work with operational and technical teams to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes across multiple projects. The successful candidate will hold a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent, bring eight years’ experience in

Qualifications

• Eight or more years’ experience across asphalt surfacing, hot mix or aggregates.
• Experience managing budgets, costs, reporting and P&L performance.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial requirements.
• Clear communication and inclusive leadership style.
• Ability to lead multiple projects and mentor teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, programming and delivery of asphalt surfacing projects
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, claims and overall commercial performance
• Coordinate crews, subcontractors, materials, plant and equipment across multiple projects
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and key stakeholders
• Oversee quality assurance, contract compliance and project risk management
• Lead, mentor and develop engineers, supervisors and operational teams
