Job summary

The Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand in Auckland invites applications for a Nurse Educator within Hospital Operations. You will provide professional and clinical leadership, patient care coordination, and education and clinical teaching to staff and patients.

You will collaborate with the current Nurse Educator, the Simulation Team and other stakeholders to drive education, clinical development and evidence-based nursing practice in a busy, high‑quality environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in adult education and clinical teaching.
• Excellent interpersonal, organisational and project management skills.
• Innovative mindset and ability to build relationships with hospital stakeholders.
• Postgraduate qualifications focusing on adult education (master’s preferred).
• Sound understanding of patient deterioration programmes and interest in quality, risk and safety.
• Competent with IT systems, including Excel and local databases.
• Current Nursing Council NZ registration and a current APC.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional and clinical leadership, patient care coordination, education and clinical teaching.
• Collaborate with Nurse Educator group and Simulation Team to maximise education opportunities.
• Work autonomously, prioritise workloads effectively and contribute to a supportive senior nursing team.
• Contribute to education, clinical development and the delivery of safe, high‑quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
