Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Network Security Engineer for a growing telecommunications client in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will design, implement and maintain robust security measures to safeguard critical network infrastructure and data, ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability across services.

The role requires 3–5 years in network security and deep knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
3–5 years of experience in network security engineering or similar role.
Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage network security solutions (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
Monitor network traffic for threats and respond to incidents.
Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans of the network.
Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
Troubleshoot and resolve security issues in a timely manner.
Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security into network design.
