Description

We are currently looking for a dynamic and creative Senior Manager - Strategic Communications to lead our communications and media functions, drive high-impact storytelling, and champion OFC’s public image across Oceania and beyond.

Join us in Auckland, New Zealand, and be part of an exciting chapter as we prepare for the launch of the OFC Professional League in January 2026.

About The Role

This is a pivotal role within our Commercial & Communications team. You will be responsible for:

  • Leading OFC’s communications and media operations teams to deliver high-performance outcomes.
  • Developing and executing multi-channel communication strategies across digital, traditional, and broadcast platforms.
  • Advising the Executive Team on messaging, risk, and public relations strategies.
  • Overseeing integrated campaigns for competitions, development programmes, and stakeholder initiatives.
  • Managing crisis communications and acting as primary liaison for media and public affairs.
  • Strengthening relationships with regional and international media outlets.
  • Ensuring alignment of all messaging with OFC’s strategic, commercial, and social objectives.
  • Supporting executive and corporate communications and contributing to board and leadership engagements.

About You

Our ideal candidate has an understanding of the sport marketing and industry.

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You Have

  • 7+ years' experience in strategic communications, public relations, or journalism (preferably in sport or government).
  • 5+ years' experience managing teams and senior-level communication strategies.
  • Exceptional writing, speechwriting, and editorial skills.
  • A track record in handling high-profile media relations and crisis communications.
  • Proficiency in digital publishing platforms, media monitoring tools, and analytics.
  • Experience delivering communications for major sporting events or competitions.
  • Cultural awareness and the ability to communicate across diverse Pacific communities.
  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, PR, Journalism or related field (preferred).
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Additional language skills beyond English would be an advantage.
