Senior Manager Property Tax

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Property Tax specialist to join a leading consulting firm as they expand their Tax presence across the New Zealand market.

Our client is seeking experienced Tax Manager/Senior Manager to join their Property Tax team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Guide and support junior tax professionals on the team, including training, providing feedback, and ensuring clients receive exceptional service through quality tax advice.
  2. Stay up to date with current property tax legislation, both nationally and internationally, ensuring advice remains relevant and legally compliant.
  3. Conduct research and apply findings to tax-related issues.
  4. Analyze complex information and deliver clear, actionable tax opinions and strategies to assist clients.
  5. Provide specific tax advice related to property, ensuring client compliance and awareness.
  6. Collaborate with other teams within the firm to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  7. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients as a confident advisor.
  9. Deliver communication and advice in a timely and effective manner.
  10. Help develop and refine best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery, contributing to the firm’s success and reputation.
Ideal Candidate:
  1. Prior tax compliance and advisory experience within a CA firm, preferably Big 4 or mid-tier.
  2. Between 5-7 years of experience in tax advisory roles.
  3. Strong communication, client, and stakeholder management skills.
  4. Experience coaching and managing a team of direct reports.
  5. Open to professionals seeking more advisory work or transitioning from commercial tax environments into practice.
  6. Knowledge of tax legislation and case law.
  7. Experience in the property sector is a bonus.
  8. CA/CPA qualified, with a long-term commitment to the professional service industry.
  9. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  10. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
