Job summary

New Zealand Government is seeking a Manager, Maori Outcomes to provide operational leadership across Te Mahau Education Services. You will strengthen Maori learner outcomes, coordinate high-priority work, and align investment decisions with partnerships across agencies. Based in National Office with national scope and some travel.

You will lead with te reo, tikanga and matauranga Maori, build trusted relationships, and drive strategic and operational plans within a complex system.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior role with strategic, analytical and conceptual thinking in a complex environment.
• Understanding of te reo, tikanga and matauranga Maori.
• Experience developing and delivering integrated strategic and operational plans and budgets.
• Experience leading the implementation, monitoring and improvement of organisational systems, frameworks and processes.
• Proven ability to use data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities, and to inform system-level decision making.
• A track record of building trusted relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and Ministers.
• Machinery of government knowledge and navigating ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strategic plan to assess and address issues raised, up to ministerial level.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support quality education provisions.
• Provide practical, easy-to-operationalise advice and leadership to work programmes.
