Job summary

The Ministry of Education in Whangārei invites applications for a permanent Senior Education Advisor. You will strengthen educational performance in schools and kura, with a focus on Māori-medium kura across Tai Tokerau.

You will work to improve attendance and achievement through a knowledge-rich curriculum grounded in the science of learning. You will support learning interventions, workforce development, and the implementation of national priorities through regional services, with strong Te Ao

Qualifications

Strong analytical skills to work with student achievement data to determine needs and priorities.
Experience developing and implementing projects within education settings.
Ability to develop strong working relationships within and outside the Ministry.
Knowledge of Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori is essential.

Responsibilities

Support the implementation of education priorities through effective advisory services.
Communicate government priorities and ensure understanding and delivery across sectors.
Identify, broker and provide implementation support to schools and kura.
Track and report on progress of initiatives and attendance/achievement outcomes.
Collaborate with schools, kura and whānau to improve student engagement and attendance.
