Job summary

ASB Bank seeks a senior leader to drive the performance and evolution of its non-retail credit risk models within Corporate Analytics. You will oversee IFRS9 and IRB model monitoring, ensure regulatory alignment, and coordinate with technology, data, and business teams to deliver robust risk insights.

You will coach a team, influence senior stakeholders, and shape risk strategy across portfolios while delivering high-quality, data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Experienced credit risk professional with leadership, commercial thinking and stakeholder influence.
• 7+ years' experience within credit risk management, analytics or reporting environments.
• 3+ years' people leadership experience.
• Knowledge of banking and APRA and/or RBNZ prudential requirements.
• Strong mathematical, statistical or quantitative skills.
• Experience analysing large datasets and delivering actionable insights.
• Advanced SAS and/or SQL skills.
• Exposure to Tableau and Power BI.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead model performance monitoring across non-retail IFRS9 and IRB credit risk models.
• Drive regulatory change and model implementation initiatives.
• Improve and automate monitoring processes.
• Support transition to Snowflake and Databricks platforms.
• Translate complex model outcomes into clear business insights.
• Analyse emerging trends and influence strategic decision-making.
• Represent ASB on Group committees for model governance, development and validation.
• Partner with technology, data and business teams to enhance model and data capability.
• Coach and develop team members to build a high-performing culture.
