Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Management Accountant for a fixed-term contract. In this position, you will support a programme implementation team in a complex operating environment, providing strategic financial analysis and advice to the project steering group to support decision-making and enable the delivery of benefits. The role will also support the programme in ensuring financial business case development, management reporting, analysis, budgeting, financial forecasting, and other management accounting services are performed professionally, accurately, and in a timely manner.

Key Accountabilities & Deliverables
  • Strengthening financial management and business performance through high-quality reporting and advice to governance groups, Investment Committees, and senior managers.
  • Completing strategic financial analysis on projects, ensuring reliable and defensible budgets and forecasts.
  • Providing guidance, analysis, and support for timesheet and cost recovery systems and transitions to future automated solutions.
  • Undertaking risk assessments, reviews, financial modeling, and data analytics of existing processes, systems, and operating models to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Actively influencing day-to-day decisions, shaping strategy and the direction of planning processes, ensuring cohesion and financial robustness to optimize investments.
  • Covering any other duties consistent with the position as required by the Manager.
Qualifications, Attributes, And Experience
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience (desirable).
  • Significant experience across projects and programmes of work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Significant experience in management accounting, analysis, modeling, analytics, and report writing in a complex environment.
  • Significant experience identifying business improvement initiatives and facilitating organizational change.
  • Well-developed communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
