Job summary

PwC New Zealand is seeking a Senior Analyst (Associate equivalent) / Manager to join our Corporate Finance (Deals) team in Wellington. You will take ownership of financial modelling and valuations and work on live buy-side and sell-side transactions with close Partner access.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related discipline.
• 3–7 years’ experience in corporate finance, investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate development, or financial markets (Big 4 or similar preferred).
• Advanced Excel skills, with proven experience building and reviewing financial models and valuations.
• Strong analytical capability, with the ability to produce clear, board-ready written outputs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence contributing in deal teams and client discussions.
• A proactive mindset, strong time management and the ability to perform in fast-paced deal environments.
• Progress towards or completion of CFA or CA qualifications is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of financial modelling and valuations across live buy-side and sell-side transactions.
• Prepare high-quality client deliverables such as information memoranda, investment papers, valuation reports, and board presentations.
• Analyse financial performance, growth drivers, risks and value creation opportunities to support investment decisions and negotiations.
• Support transaction execution, including data room management and coordination with other advisors.
• Interact with Partners, Directors, Managers and Analysts to deliver robust and commercial advice.
